Toby Keith Covel was an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and businessman who lived from 1961 to 2024.

The smash hit track "Should've Been a Cowboy" by Keith was released in 1993. Keith's first four studio albums were released in the 1990s, and all of them were certified gold or higher. The lead single from Keith's 1999 self-titled album, "How Do You Like Me Now?!", was his breakthrough hit. In 2000, the single ranked as the top country tune. Keith went on to achieve four platinum certifications for his next three albums, all of which yielded three number one singles.

On February 5, 2024, Keith passed away due to stomach cancer. Only hours after his passing, he was elected, and in 2024 he was enshrined into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
