American singer-songwriter Jaten Collin Dimsdale (born September 25, 1992), better known by his stage name Teddy Swims, is a singer-songwriter whose sound combines pop, R&B, soul, and country influences. Throughout 2019 and 2020, he first gained popularity on his YouTube channel by performing versions of songs. Tough Love (2022), his third extended play, catapulted him into the Billboard 200 ranking for the first time.

Swims became well-known in 2023 after his song "Lose Control" peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024 and made it to the top ten in a number of other international charts. The release of his first studio album, I've Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1), which peaked at number ten in Australia and the Netherlands, came before the song that is regarded as his breakthrough hit as an artist.
