Spanish singers Mayte Mateos and Mara Mendiola founded the female vocal group Baccara in 1977. With their debut single "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie," the duo quickly found success on a global scale. It peaked at number one in much of Europe and went on to become the best-selling record of all time for a female group, eventually selling more than 16 million copies worldwide.
